<image:caption>As the Foundation Archivist at the Reversible Destiny Foundation, which is the artists’ foundation for Arakawa and Madeline Gins, I have overseen the cataloging, description, and rehousing of 300 document boxes of documents and ephemera. The archive has been in storage, largely unused, since Gins’s death in 2014. Alongside processing the documents, I’ve selectively digitized thousands of documents and built a searchable CollectiveAccess database for the collection.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Projects - Cataloging Isamu Noguchi's Archives</image:title>
<image:caption>In aide of a large scale archival digitization project at the Isamu Noguchi Foundation Garden Museum (funded by the Henry Luce Foundation) I cataloged the collection on the item level. Together with the previous project archivist I worked through Noguchi's correspondence and manuscript collection, files created in collaboration with business partner and architect Shoji Sadao, and his business and legal files. Overall the Collection includes over 25,000 letters, notes, polaroids, and architectural documents.</image:caption>

<image:title>Projects - Tackling the Archival Backlog at the Lower East Side Tenement Museum</image:title>
<image:caption>As the archives/collection summer fellow I assessed, described, and began processing the Lower East Side Tenement Museum Archives's large backlog of institutional records. My project included inventorying boxes, fitting these files into the existing finding aid, and rehousing and shifting the physical records. I also dealt with the archive's current storage challenges, such as a leaking HVAC system. You can read a more complete summary of my work at the Tenement here.</image:caption>

<image:title>Projects - Evaluating the Impact of the Nazi Olympics: Berlin 1936 Exhibit</image:title>
<image:caption>As the capstone of my graduate school experience I conducted a follow up study of the 1936 Nazi Olympics Exhibit, that was on loan from the United State Holocaust Memorial Museum, and ran at the Stark Center for Physical Culture and Sports on the campus of UT. My project included a combination of quantitative analysis of visitor numbers and publicity efforts, as well as qualitative surveys of visitors and exhibit staff members. My aim was to give the staff at the Stark Center a clear picture of what went well with this exhibit and what can be improved upon to ensure a valuable visitor experience in the future.</image:caption>

<image:title>Projects - Changing the Story: A Proposed App for Crowdsourcing the Museum Experience</image:title>
<image:caption>For my final project in my Cultural Heritage on Display class, I created a mock up of a mobile application that would allow museum visitors to create and share personal audio tours of museums. This was inspired by my a trip to the Bullock Texas State History Museum, where, as a feminist, I was shocked at the ways women's stories and experiences were presented (and not). As part of my presentation of the app I created a feminist tour of the Bullock, which I would be happy to share! (I'm just not uploading it due to large file size.)</image:caption>

<image:title>Projects - Preservation Needs Assessment - Texas State Libraries and Archives</image:title>
<image:caption>With a partner, I designed and carried out a statistical survey of the preservation needs of a collection of water district maps at the Texas State Library and Archives. Along with giving the staff conservator a sense of what formats were present in the collection and an overall sense of their condition, we demonstrated the need for a new filing system for the maps and wrote a grant proposal to fund this project in the near future. <image:title>Projects - Paper: Between the Practical and the Poetic: Problems in Archiving Theatrical Scene Designs</image:title>
<image:caption>In this paper, written for my Materials in Libraries, Archives, and Museums class, I examined the problem of archiving theatrical scene designs. Using the example of the Norman Bel Geddes design for King Lear, records of which are housed at the Harry Ransom Center at UT, I demonstrate the gaps inherent in archiving the ephemeral and argue that archivists need to engage with artists to promote the importance of documentation. <image:title>Projects - National Archives Month Display: Telling the Story of Student Life</image:title>
<image:caption>I designed a display made up of images from the Archives of the Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary, that highlighted not just the "quirky" history of the school (such as the "Gospel Airlift" program), but also the increasingly diverse student body. I've also gone on to help the public services librarian design two other displays. One highlighting new additions to the library's collection and the other suggesting seasonally appropriate books for Lent.</image:caption>

<image:title>Projects - UT at Austin Athletics Media Relations Men's Hall of Honor Collection</image:title>
<image:caption>As a part of our Archival Enterprise I class, my group and I fully processed a collection of 10 cubic feet of publicity materials (papers, newspapers, clippings, and photographs) for the UT Athletic Media Relations Office. We started by writing an extensive appraisal report and processing plan for the collection. Then set to work removing rusting paperclips, staples, and other potentially harmful enclosures and rehousing the materials in acid free folders and boxes. We then wrote a DACS compliant finding aid, encoded in EAD/XML, which has been uploaded onto Texas Archival Resources Online (TARO), and can be accessed here.</image:caption>

<image:caption>As part of my Intro to Digital Humanities class, my group and I led a workshop on using MALLET (a tool developed at UMass Amherst) to analyze large corpi of humanities materials. (In our workshop we used a collection of Jack London's letters, housed at the Harry Ransom Center.) My focus in the workshop was to teach our students about how scholars have used MALLET, and topic modeling in general, in DH projects. I focused on Robert K. Nelson's Mining the Dispatch and Cameron Blevin's work with Martha Blevin's diary (where this graph is from).</image:caption>

<image:title>Projects - The Father Emil Wesselsky Collection - Texas Archive of the Moving Image</image:title>
<image:caption>During my time as the Cataloging Intern at the Texas Archive of the Moving Image (TAMI), I helped to describe and make accessible many collections of home movies depicting Texas life, mostly from the 1950s and 1960s. This collection, which you can see here, was my favorite. Father Wesselsky was a Catholic priest in San Antonio, and in addition to depictions of parish and family life in Texas, his donation included footage of many trips he led through Europe (including one to Soviet Russia and Berlin!). Processing this collection required not only detailed metadata creation (using FileMaker Pro), but extensive research in order to correctly identify the locations and time periods present.</image:caption>
